I have been visiting Bangkok with my family a few times. This post will describe how I plan a trip to another country for the first time in my life. It was an exciting moment as a girl who had no experience traveling to another country except her own country.
I actually planned this trip for almost six months. While I was saving money, I drafted a plan and an agenda of what should I do over there such as booking flight tickets, and hotels, and checking the internet for attractions places, shops, maps, and food. I also checked some tips for tourists when they visit Bangkok. The best website for those who have never been to Bangkok and want to have an adventure there is aroimakmak.com. There is a lot of useful information and tips that you surely need to know. Anyway, the Thai sim card is really necessary (for those who can’t live without the internet). The internet is not free in Thailand. You cannot access the internet freely when you go to a coffee shop or fast-food restaurant.
Let me briefly describe my agenda. On the first day, I went to the Chatuchak Weekend Market in the morning. This market opens only at the weekend. Mostly, they sell Thai souvenir products, clothes, handicrafts, and some street foods. In the evening, I brought my mum to a seafood restaurant in China Town (Yaowarat) called “T&K Seafood“. The foods there were more than amazing! It was like heaven to me (because I like seafood). Then we enjoy walking along the street in China Town. It actually felt like I was in China (even though I have never been there before) 😀

On the next day, I spent the whole day shopping in Bangkok. I took my mum to many shopping malls and markets. It was the most tiring day for us. I really couldn’t feel my leg. After that, I took my mum to have a foot massage at the Blue Spa and Massage. That was our first time having a foot massage. It was so relaxing. All the sores and pain suddenly faded away. The price is also reasonable. You can get a foot massage as well as a head and shoulder massage. We walked around the city until 10 pm.
The third day was our last day. It was time for me to enjoy exploring and traveling to Bangkok. I went to Lumpini Park in the morning. The view there was breathtaking. It’s really beautiful and relaxing! It was a very peaceful morning! It was also the best medicine to cure all problems and sadness. After that, I took my mum to Sealife Ocean World in Siam Paragon. We had never had a chance to explore sea life as it’s not available in Cambodia. The ticket is quite expensive but it does worth it. We spent the whole afternoon there. My mum was so excited! She said it was the best part of the trip. In the evening, I went to AsiaTique the Riverfront. As it was during the Loy Krathong festival (similar to the Water Festival in Cambodia), there was a River Festival over there. It was so crowded and joyful. There were a lot of foreigners and especially there is a variety of street foods were selling there.

Mostly, I took BTS because it’s cheaper compared to the taxi when we go to a place that is far away from our hotel. I took the taxi only when the traffic is not crowded like in the morning or afternoon. The advantages of taking BTS or MRT are a reasonable price, experiencing new transportation (as it’s not available in Cambodia), enjoying the view of Bangkok, and avoiding traffic jams. The advantages of the taxi are faster, more comfortable, and safer. The advantages of walking can enjoy nightlife walking, tasting street foods that are always along the street, and buying street products. Therefore, getting to know well of Bangkok map is very important; otherwise, you will get lost in the city or will be cheated by a taxi driver.
Another important thing to do in Bangkok is that don’t forget to taste all kinds of street foods there. They are all so cheap and yummy!

This trip ended smoothly and wonderfully. My mum and I bought a lot of things! I was so happy to see my mum is happy. This trip was the first thing that I can do for her. She didn’t have to worry about the expenses, and she got a chance to experience so many things that she has never known before.
I never get tired of visiting Bangkok. I was just back from there for a few days but I really miss the street foods now. I have gained a few kg after coming back. What I love about Bangkok is the way Thai people treat customers, their foods, their markets, and many things more.
