It has been almost a year since my life in Korea has started. There are so many wonderful things have happened and changed within this period of time. However, the most significant change in my life is the transformation from a typical home girl to an unstoppable traveling girl. I used to call myself an introvert because I loved to spend my free time in the room doing things alone such as watching movies/dramas, listening to music, read the books, and writing a blog. I normally rejected my friends when they asked me out.

I guess I cannot call myself an introvert anymore. I go out almost every day and every weekend which simply means whenever I am free. I rarely spend time in the room like I did before. I go to parties, meet new people, participate in events, go hiking, and travel to new places.

How could my life have changed 360 degrees? Well… that’s because of the environment around me. As I used to mention in an older post, I was born in a strict family and I was never allowed to do anything on my own. It had become a habit. Later on, even I could hang out but I chose not to because whether or not, I am afraid my parents would be unhappy.

While I locked myself in the room, I knew that I could be something more than just a home girl. I could do a lot of things as long as I believe that I can do it. While I stayed in the room, my mind was always flying to somewhere unreachable. I had always wished to have a fully independent life. I know that my inner-self was really eager to explore this incredibly huge world. I had been waiting for the time that I can spread my wings and fly as high as I can.  I knew that one day I would be able to do so. I have so many places I want to go and so many things I want to do.

Once I was selected as KGSP scholar, I knew that my time has come. The time to make my every imagination comes true. Since the day I set my foot in Korea, I have completed lots of things on my bucket list. Sometimes, I still feel like it’s just a dream. I feel like one day I will go back to the way it was. It scares me. However, one thing that I am pretty sure is that life is always going forward, it never goes backward. So do I. Once I spread my wings and fly up high, I will never go down. I want to fly as high as I can so see how far I can go and where is my boundary. Nonetheless, it’s just the beginning of my boundless journey. There are so many things more on my bucket list that need to be checked.

By the way, I also don’t forget where I am from and who is waiting for me as well as who is always there for me which is my one and only precious family, my parents, my sibling, and my relatives. No matter how far I go, I will always come back and spend time with them. No matter how big my dream is, my family has always had an important place in my heart because family is, of course, the most important part of life.

My message to whoever read this:

Don’t ever limit yourself. You have no idea how far you can go and how great you can be. You can be whoever you want. You don’t know what your future has in store for you. So get out of your comfort zone, discover your inner strength, listen to your inner-whisper, dream big and try your best to make it come true.
